Losing My YouTube Channel: 50 Days, Depression, and Everything That Followed

It has been 50 full days since my last blog post. I have some very good excuses for why I haven’t written a blog, and of course I will explain them in detail, but let me give you a spoiler already: Unfortunately, my YouTube channel was terminated on September 2, 2026, even though I was right, and despite contacting TeamYouTube through Twitter numerous times, my channel is still closed… Before that, I received 2 strikes on my channel, and despite being right, those two strikes were not removed either, and unfortunately, the inevitable happened and my channel was terminated. Now our story begins on July 10.

A melancholic young woman sits beside a laptop marked “CHANNEL TERMINATED,” looking out a window at dusk, with the text “Losing My YouTube Channel: 50 Days of Silence and Depression.”

My channel had just started gaining momentum, I was approaching 600+ subscribers and gaining subscribers rapidly. I think I received a warning because of a Shorts video I had uploaded months earlier… It was just an ordinary dress, but unfortunately my appeal was rejected and, I don’t know why, I deleted my video.

Anyway, 12 days later, on July 22, what I had feared happened and I received a 7-day penalty, moreover because of my most-watched video. Do you know what is strange? The video that caused me to receive that penalty was uploaded again later, but it was too late; I had already received the penalty and there was a strike on my channel… During the 7-day period, I contacted YouTube numerous times through Twitter, but unfortunately I got no results, in short, they didn’t care.

Seven days later, on July 29, my penalty ended and I quickly continued uploading videos, my views and subscribers started to increase noticeably and I reached 800+ subscribers. During this process, I told YouTube through Twitter that the strike I had received was incorrect and should be removed, but I could not get any results…

Now we come to August 10, 2026. Another one of my videos was removed, but since it was an old video, it was not counted as a penalty and instead became the first warning… It was not restored again…

The truly terrible thing happened 2 days later… Because of one of the videos I uploaded after the strike was lifted on July 29, I received another penalty, and this time it lasted for 2 weeks.

During this process, I again tried to contact YouTube, but once again, the same problem, the same indifference. Unfortunately, the really bad part happened 2 weeks later.

August 26, 2026, my 2-week penalty ended, but there were still 2 strikes on my channel.. During this process, I contacted YouTube and 3 of the 5 removed videos were restored, but one of them was restored with an age restriction. The video that was uploaded with an age restriction was uploaded in the morning hours of September 2, 2026. We will come back to this because it is very important. After the penalty was lifted on August 26, I continued uploading videos, but the thing that caused my channel to be terminated was not the videos I uploaded after the penalty was lifted; on the contrary, it was the video that had caused me to receive the penalty and had been restored. Now let’s come to the inevitable end.

September 2, 2026, around 5 in the morning, my video had been restored. I saw it around 12 noon, 6–7 hours later… Every single day, without exception, I would check my channel and look at its latest status. I was very excited when I saw that the video had been restored, but when I saw that it had been uploaded with an age restriction, I wanted to appeal. And here you will see a TERRIBLE loophole in YouTube: approximately 15 minutes after I appealed the age-restricted restored video, my channel was terminated without me even receiving a response regarding my appeal. I think it caused the video to go through moderation again and penalized it as if I had just uploaded the video again (another bug), whereas even if the video were removed again, this could not be considered a penalty because it was a newly uploaded video…

Even worse, let this be advice to many of you: never appeal an age-restricted video, because the video is immediately removed….

Moreover, the part that caused the age restriction was a 3-second section, and the funny part is that it was actually the least problematic part of the video, but no one listens.

About 2 weeks have passed and my channel is still closed. All my hope of building an independent life for myself has disappeared. Of course, I didn’t just sit around, and I tried platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, but it is not even possible to make money there anymore. The only option for now was YouTube, and I lost that too. It wasn’t just about money; it was also my only chance to build a community, and I lost that too, even though it wasn’t my fault.

Don’t think I only tried one channel. During this process, I also tried AI music and AI story channels, but I didn’t like the videos I created, so I deleted those channels as well and focused on a single channel. I closed my Pinterest accounts and decided to use my Snapchat account as a personal account. I have 4.5K+ followers, and when I go to the US, I will actively share there. Since the Spotlight section is not available in the country where I live, it is of no use.

I closed many of my Twitter accounts and opened a new one, with a clean page and no posts. I did the same with my Facebook account… Unfortunately, during this process, all my access to my Facebook account was also unfairly blocked, and on top of that, you cannot even appeal on Facebook, so I deleted it and opened a new one.

I changed many things on my blog. I made it a very simple, standard blog with a clear purpose. There is no other purpose, just a blog, and from now on I will write more blogs. Honestly, I feel better when I write blogs. The only thing that gets a little tiring is having to enter the admin panel every time I want to write a blog. For a while, I looked for a theme for myself, but I decided it was too early for that and gave up.

I wish I could tell you everything. Then you would understand why I was so hopeful, but for now, I think this much is enough.

I don’t know what I am going to do. The reason I wrote a blog during this process was not all of the things I have told you; it was depression. Believe me, I tried very hard to keep myself alive and I did not give up. I am still here, and I believe something will happen.

Allah will help me, inshallah.
